I truly believe that art can change the world. There's so much beauty in it, and in many ways art saved my life. I was on the streets for a year and a half, with some stints of couch surfing, while I created this website. The idea of creating kept me going and I am now coming close to completing my second book about my experiences overcoming homelessness.
My hope is that one day Art Before Money will grow into a non-profit that gives the downtrodden a place to create, a place of community and a place of joy. Ultimately I want to create a system where those who are experiencing homelessness, will be able to sell canvases for an immense amount of money, and put payments down on homes.
This might be a pie in the sky idea, but I think that if I can pull myself out of homelessness, with dedication, help from friends and family, and the grace of God, something like Art Before Money can grow into a community that feeds the artistic soul and the basic needs of our community.
Thanks for Reading, and if you are interested in connecting, please follow me and let me know your thoughts.

NEW TRACK!
Hey, let me tell you a little story. When beastii's first album was in pre-release, it blew my mind wide open. Dave Eggers once said in Salon, or Esquire, (or one of the five million publications for which he writes when he isn't pumping out award winning novels), "The Pixies are were opening up and emptying out heads before 1986." Yeah, that's all factual and true, and band comparisons are trite, so I'm gonna leave the comparisons for another time, because honestly beastii is in a league all of their own.
There is nothing that this band is not capable of, to call them punk rock is almost erroneous. To call them punk space rock is limiting their scope. If you want to go to Europa and live there for a year in a mansion of sound that will reaffirm your life, and eat away at your ego at the same time, listen to beastii, because let's be honest you don't have a choice. Beastii is entrancing, beastii rips open the meaning of blues punk rock and reassembles it into your best daydream. Get at this music. Pay for this music. Love this music. It's worth it.
